Ron Schutz Releases Statement on the Latest Situation in Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS – As a candidate for Minnesota Attorney General, it’s our job to make the case why Keith Ellison doesn’t deserve another term as our state’s top law enforcement official. Fortunately for us, Ellison is doing the work for us.
On Thursday, Ellison sat before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Oversight Hearing and, in sworn testimony, told members of the United States Senate that left-wing protesters did not obstruct ICE, nor did he cheer them on.
How about we roll the tape…
EXAMPLES OF LEFT-WING PROTESTERS OBSTRUCTING ICE
Everyone has seen the images of protesters who stormed a Sunday morning service because the pastor happened to be affiliated with ICE.
Just days ago, protesters attempted to interfere with ICE escorting a defendant to a vehicle, attempting to free the person in custody . In another instance, protesters attempted to prevent ICE from arresting an illegal immigrant caught with 57 pounds of meth.
Meanwhile, protesters used fireworks and snowballs to try to gain entry to a hotel that allowed ICE agents to stay there.
Does any of that sound peaceful?
EXAMPLES OF KEITH ELLISON ENCOURAGING PROTESTERS
When kids ditched school to protest in St. Paul, Ellison told them, “This is your protest, not mine. I just wanted to be here in support of you.”
When left-wing protesters stormed a church during services, Ellison joined Don Lemon’s program after he was being considered for charges relating to what happened in that church, saying, “How they are stretching either of these laws to apply to people who protested in a church over the behavior of a religious leader is beyond me.”
Ellison even encouraged protesters to do the job of law enforcement during a panel with Democratic AGs in Oregon. “Much of the evidence we’ve been able to generate is because of you… This country will be saved by the people of the United States. And so that means you’re protesting, you’re gathering evidence, you’re sharing with us … is actually how we’re going to win.”
Bottom Line: Keith Ellison’s lies and refusal to stand up for the rule of law are exactly why he doesn’t deserve another term as Minnesota’s Attorney General.
